From the Sea to the Stars: A Musical Adventure
The Mid-South Symphonic Band closed out its 2024–2025 season with a bang at our final concert of the year, held May 4 at the Volkswagen Conference Center in Chattanooga. With a galactic and pirate-themed program, we fully embraced the "May the Fourth Be With You" Star Wars spirit—and so did our audience of 380 attendees!
Spring Sounds in a Stunning Space: A Memorable Mid-South Concert
The spring concert was truly a spectacular event, enjoyed by both the audience and the musicians. Held at the beautiful First Baptist Church of Chattanooga, the venue provided the perfect setting for a diverse program and showcased the talents of guest performers and band member soloists
Sharing the Stage with Lookout Valley Middle/High
The Mid-South Symphonic Band performed at Lookout Valley Middle/High School. The Lookout Valley Band of Gold was hosting their annual fundraiser, used to support their participation in ETSBOA Lower Area Concert Performance Assessment. The event started with a spaghetti supper, was followed by music from the Band of Gold, and finished with three pieces from the Mid-South Band.
Giving Back with Food Donations to Stone Creek Elementary
For the holiday season, the MidSouth Symphonic Band contributed 31 boxes of food to Stone Creek Elementary School students in Rossville. "We are so appreciative of the support we get from Walker County, which allows us to use Shaffner Hall as our home base", said Megan Herndon, President of the Band. "This project was a way for us to give back to the community."
Holiday Concert 2024 a Great Success!
The MidSouth Symphonic Band presented “Sounds of the Season” on Sunday, December 15, 2024. More than 340 people were in the audience at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School. The new Fine Arts Center there was a perfect backdrop for some old favorites and some new pieces. Brittany Mari, guest harpist, played with the band.
A Joyful Autumn Celebration of Music
Music filled the air on Thursday, October 10 as the Mid-South Symphonic Band kicked off its 2024–2025 season with an Autumn Celebration concert at Christ United Methodist Church in Chattanooga. Led by conductor Scotty Jones, the band brought together a rich and varied program that celebrated both reflection and festivity.
